Add a twist to classic lemonade with a little lovage.
The celery-like flavor of lovage can be ultra-refreshing when added to cooling summer beverages. Here, a little fresh lovage adds an herbal note to any lemonade you like. Our favorite version starts with a simple syrup made by bringing 1 cup sugar, 1 cup water, and for an extra lemon kick, the zest of 1 or 2 lemons to a boil and simmering until slightly thick, about 10 minutes. We let that cool, remove and discard the zest, and then mix it with a cup fresh lemon juice and dilute that mixture with 2 to 3 cups of water.
