Edible Pursuit: First Asparagus

Asparagus is one of the oldest known edible plants in human history, with pictures of it found in:

  1. Egyptian ruins dating from 3000 BC
  2. Dead Sea Scrolls from 400 BCE
  3. Lascaux cave paintings from 15,000 BCE

The answer is the Egyptian ruins dating from 3000 BC. A recipe for asparagus is also present in the oldest surviving cookbook from 300 AD.
