You might be wondering why a magazine about local food is discussing bananas.

It’s because the Vancouver distributor Discovery Organics has recently brought Fair Trade organic bananas to our area, purchasing directly from farmers in northern Peru, under terms that support higher wages and accept no slavery or child labour. Available at the East End Food Co-op, SPUD, Green Earth Organics, Mainly Organics and seven Choices Markets locations.
