American Farms in Crisis
The Wall Street Journal investigates the financial crisis looming around American farms. “Bankers say many farmers are burning through savings to stay in business. They expect some to retire rather than lose more money. Young farmers without much savings are vulnerable, as are large growers who racked up debt to expand operations. Some locked into multiyear land leases at high rents.”

Must-See Documentary: Under Contract
Rural Advancement Foundation International presents the documentary, Under Contract. “For the first time in a full-length documentary, contract farmers tell their stories and industry experts reveal how the corporate production model pits farmer against farmer. The story of the contract farmer is the story of what’s changing in rural America. Power in agriculture is changing hands, but few people know what’s happening to the farmers producing our food.”

About That Endangered Bee…
Remember the Rusty Patched Bumble Bee that the Obama administration put on the endangered species list? Well, timing being what it is, it’s probably not going to get the protection it deserves. Popular Science speculates on Trump’s executive order freezing all regulations, saying “So far, the freeze is just a freeze, and the protections may get enacted on March 21... But given the administration's track record on environmental issues, conservation groups are concerned.”

Are Robot Bees the Answer? reports, “Small drones coated with horsehair and a sticky gel could one day help pollinate crops and help offset the costly loss of bee populations worldwide, researchers in Japan said Thursday.”

High-Fashion Chocolates
Reuters covers a fashion show that we can all appreciate. “From floor-sweeping gowns to eye-catching shorter dresses, models strutted down a Brussels catwalk in an array of unusual designs on Thursday night - all adorned with chocolate. The daily fashion show, which sees teams of chefs and designers working together to create chocolate outfits, is a highlight of the "Salon du Chocolat" chocolate fair in the Belgian capital.”
