by Juliet Farmer On March 13, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., the public is invited to a farm open house courtesy of Farm Fresh To You and Capay Organic. Starting this month, each second Saturday there will be seasonal activities on the farm that are free and open to the public. Each month will focus on a different art activity, led by local artist Jesse Pruet, and live music by local musicians. For those wishing to take a hike and learn about the farm, a guided farm walk, led by owner Thaddeus Barsotti, will begin at 11:30 a.m. (so bring shoes you don't mind getting muddy!) This month, one-man-show Dylan Bolles of Davis will play a mix of original and traditional American folk music with some homemade instruments made from native Californian flora and fauna. In addition to art projects, other family-friendly activities, such as lemonade-making and harvesting lettuces and carrots will be taking place throughout the day. Come visit the farm, take a trailer ride, meet the farmers that grow your veggies and harvest what's in season. Also meet the newest additions to the farm-three pigs, two goats and 25 chicks. So pack up your family and a picnic lunch, and head out to the farm for a day of fun. This event is free and no RSVP is necessary. Capay Organic is located at 23800 State Highway 16 in Capay, Calif.
