- 1 bottle full-bodied bottle red wine
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 1 teaspoon ground allspice
- 5 whole cloves
- 5 oz. 100% pure cacao or 85% cacao dark/bittersweet chocolate
- 3 tablespoons soft brown sugar or honey or to taste
Warm the red wine and bring it to a simmer (do not boil).
Add the spices, then the cacao and finally the sugar or honey.
Pour the wine into heat-resistant glasses and serve immediately.
