Eat in My Kitchen cookbook

Congratulations to Meike Peters for winning the 2017 James Beard Award for Best Cookbook in the general cooking category!

Readers of Meike Peters' Eat in My Kitchen blog are excited by the release of her cookbook by the same name. Many fan favorites are included here along with 100 other recipes that celebrate each season, and the spirit of communal meals. Her recipes reflect a northern European practicality, her German roots, and rustic Mediterranean tastes from her travels in Malta.

Edible asked Peters how she reacted to the news that Eat in My Kitchen won the 2017 James Beard Award for Best Cookbook in the general cooking category. Her reply:

"It feels unreal! The James Beard Award is one of the biggest honors in the food world. There are so many fantastic cookbooks out there and that the Eat In My Kitchen book was chosen by the jury, leaves me speechless. Working on this book and seeing it come to life has been such an exciting, challenging, and satisfying process. So many memories are woven into every single recipe, story, and picture. Once it was just an idea, then it became a book, and now it won this award. I think I'll need some time to process what happened."
