Those tamales sound pretty killer. Hopefully there's more variations of foie on the menu too. I may have to go back for that egg sandwich pretty soon. - ChiefHDB

Joe, that sandwich looks great. Have you been back? I went yesterday and had the chicken skin fried chicken, cubano sandwich and banana custard milkshake. Good stuff. I'm looking forward to trying more of the menu. http://lawandfood.blogspot.com/2010/07/alls-well-at-m-wells.html - ChiefHDB

Thanks for that review. That diner is only about 1/4 mile from my daughter's LIC apartment (where I stay when I'm in NY) and Au Pied de Cochon is probably my favorite non-Asian restaurant in North America, so I'll definitely be checking it out. I can only hope Dufour subscribes to his mentor's canon of value (real human-sized portions at modest prices).

I'm guessing Dufour is being coy about the poutine (he could probably have the curds flown in, if necessary). Perhaps he secretly dislikes poutine as I do -- I find it a gooey mess, however haute.

Has he got blueberries somewhere on the menu? - Gary Soup
