This week  Seven Questions turns its attention toward Brooklyn resident George Motz, author of Hamburger America. Motz recently shared his Top 5 burgers in the borough in the summer issue of Edible Queens.

Was it hard to narrow the list of top Queens burgers down to just five?
Yes! Next time we need to do a top 8 Burgers in Queens or something.

Do you have a favorite style of burger?
Oh yes, I prefer mine griddled. I'll eat a burger any way the chef makes it but I'd rather have mine smashed on a flattop with grilled onions.

If In-n-Out Burger opened in Queens would you move from Brooklyn to Queens?
Ha! No way. The last thing I need is close proximity to that place. I'm so lucky that In-N-Out is on the left coast. The last time I was in L.A. I ate 3 double-doubles in 24 hrs. Not recommended, but entirely satisfying. Anyway, In-N-Out ain't moving here.

When not on the burger trail where do you like to eat in Queens ?
There is so much great food in Queens that I could make a list a mile long. Thai at Sripraphai in Woodside, ice cream at Max 'N Mina's in Flushing, Malaysian at Taste Good in Elmhurst,  Egyptian at Kabab Cafe and Greek at S'Agapo in Astoria...I could go on.

Does your wife dig hamburgers?
She does now! After 17 years of vegetarianism she finally threw in the towel and ate a burger. Now she's a fiend. She's actually the only person I know who can finish a burger faster than I can.

Burgers aside who's got better grub Queens or Brooklyn?
That's a tough one. Queens has amazing ethnic range that Brooklyn can't touch, but Brooklyn has some great new food (and better pizza).

Lemon Ice King or L&B Spumoni Gardens?
I'm a huge fan of L&B's pistachio spumoni.
