Elemental Rehydration Drink

Description

Inspired by Amy Reynolds’ Peace Corps rehydration campaign during the cholera outbreak in Central America in the early 1990s


Ingredients

Main Ingredient

16 oz. fresh spring water

1 T. agave nectar (or substitute organic honey or sugar)

Juice of 1 organic lemon

½ t. sea salt (a flake or fine-grind sea salt will dissolve best) 

Methods/steps

Mix all ingredients in a glass and drink slowly to rehydrate the body and replenish essential electrolytes lost due to excess exercise, sun exposure or intestinal imbalance. Excellent for bikers or day hikers who need to hydrate and replace minerals during their journey.
