FOOD FIND 9.28.10:

This is the second entry of Food Find, a regularly updated bloggish sort of posting that gives a shout-out to some of the unique food finds we come across in our travels, things we stumble upon in the Valley and beyond, amazing meals we might get the chance to eat, basically anything that gets us excited in ways that people who don't get excited about these sorts of things might not understand.

Thanks to the arrival of a new Easthamptonite (my son Emmet, born 6/11), it was hard for me to find the time for regular Food Find updates. But the kiddo is now nearly four months old and I'm starting to crawl out of the cave of new motherhood. We're about four weeks to the end of our CSA share, and if you read our summer issue, you know how much I've loved going to the farm each week and coming home with a huge stash of fresh vegetables, fruits and herbs. With a newborn baby, I tended to keep our meals pretty simple, usually cutting up the vegetables, dousing them with olive oil, and before tossing them on the grill, topping them with a generous sprinkle of Seasonello Herb Sea Salt. I first discovered this incredible mixture of sea salt, rosemary, garlic, sage and black pepper nearly two years ago at Cooks Shop Here in Northampton, and it's held a prominent spot on my spice rack ever since. I can't imagine grilling vegetables, roasting potatoes or even broiling steak without it. In our hassled, harried age, when entire program schedules are devoted to "just add water," "heat and go" cooking, Seasonello Herb Sea Salt is the shortest, easiest, healthiest route to an excellent meal.
