Barnraiser, the crowdfunding platform dedicated to supporting sustainable food and farming projects across the country, is launching a new Pitch In Challenge. The challenge aims to create the world’s largest tip jar for good food innovation.

Founder Eileen Gordon Chiarello spent a decade working with husband, Chef & TV host Michael Chiarello, before creating Barnraiser for the food movement.  “From healthy and artisanal foods to community kitchens and organic farms, when we put our collective support behind these innovators, we can create a healthy food future for us all," says Gordon. "Our team at Barnraiser wants to make sustainable food & farming the standard.”

Barnraiser has a big goal for the rest of 2015: to raise $500,000 toward good food projects. If $250,000 is raised to help get thousands of local food projects off the ground, Barnraiser will match that amount to put $500,000 into those projects.

As a Founding Member, Edible Communities is excited to partner with Barnraiser to help spread the word among its local food communities. For every donation as little as $1, Barnraiser will add $1 to the tip jar. 100% of tips are distributed to Barnraiser projects. Working with Edible Communities publishers, we are reaching out to the farmers, artisans, gardeners and others in the local food movement to support Pitch In and to start good food projects of their own.
