About the EDDY Awards
The EDDY Awards are a celebration of excellence in publishing—from food writing to coverage of social issues to exceptional photography and more. The awards celebrate the voice of independent publishers covering local food, season by season.
Edible Communities cover more than 80 distinct culinary regions of the U.S. and Canada. We focus on the people—farmers, fishers, chefs, vintners, food artisans—who live and work the land. We give voice to local food inspirations, trends and challenges, and we offer rare access to the most influential and interesting food and drink enthusiasts.
A distinguished panel of more than 50 judges including chefs, authors, editors, farmers, activists and bloggers narrowed down a huge number of entries to arrive at the finalists. Each category will have 2 winners—Critic’s Choice and Reader’s Choice—and a finalist may win one or both. One exception is Best Special Issue, which will have a Critic's Choice winner only.
Official Rules & Information
1. The EDDY Awards are open to Edible Communities’ publishers only. Publishers may submit material published and/or available in 2014, and the content has to be original, i.e., not published previously elsewhere.
2. Finalists in each category (except Best Special Issue) are posted at www.ediblefeast.com/eddyawards for Reader’s Choice award voting. You can vote once daily in each category from February 27, 2015 through March 15, 2015 at 11:59pm ET. Voting is enabled on category pages as well as individual finalist pages. Finalists on category pages rotate each time a page is refreshed for fairness.
3. Entries with the most votes in each category will win Reader’s Choice awards. Critic’s Choice awards will be determined by the judging panel. Winners of both the Critic’s Choice and Reader’s Choice awards will be announced in New Orleans on March 19, 2015 and on www.ediblefeast.com/eddyawards on March 20, 2015.
