A two-time James-Beard-Award-winning journalist, Estabrook is the author of Tomatoland: How Modern Industrial Agriculture Destroyed Our Most Alluring Fruit (described as “masterful” by Mark Bittman in the New York Times). He was a contributing editor at Gourmet magazine. His work has also appeared in the New York Times “Dining” section and the New York Times Magazine, Men’s Health, Saveur, Gastronomica, TheAtlantic.com and many other national magazines. He has been anthologized in The Best American Food Writing 2005, 2007, 2008, 2010, and 2011. His website is www.politicsoftheplate.com

Jonathan Bloom writes about why we waste food, why it matters and what we can do about it. He is the author of American Wasteland: How America Throws Away Nearly Half of Its Food (and What We Can Do About It). The North Carolina-based journalist also writes the blog WastedFood.com.

Tracie McMillan is the author of The American Way of Eating: Undercover at Walmart, Applebee’s, Farm Fields and the Dinner Table (Scribner 2012). She also writes about food, travel, and class for a number of publications including the New York Times, Saveur, Harper’s, and Slate. Her writing and reporting have earned numerous awards, including the Harry Chapin Media Award; the James Aronson Award for Social Justice Journalism; and finalist nods from the James Beard Journalism Awards and the Livingston Award for Young Journalists. In 2011, McMillan was named a senior fellow at the Schuster Institute for Investigative Journalism at Brandeis University. She lives in Brooklyn, with frequent stays in Detroit, Oakland, and New Mexico and can be reached via www.traciemcmillan.com.
