When one thinks of eating well one thinks of good food. A few weeks ago I was contemplating what it means to eat well and digest good food. I realized that, beyond eating, I’m consuming all of the aspects of my life each day—my work, my interactions with family and friends, the emails I receive, the news I hear…all of it can be considered “food” for my body and mind in one way or another.
Amy Marzluff and Carrie Saba recognize this truth. Co-founders of Be Well Columbus, the two have created an organization devoted to helping people discover ways to be well and live well in Columbus. Both Amy and Carrie are certified Holistic Health Coaches and share a passion for helping others achieve a sense of wellness and wholeness in their life.
Starting on July 31, Amy and Carrie are taking their approach to the streets by offering Be Well Tours. Beginning in the Short North, the two will guide participants through the best places to find healthy, locally sourced foods and food products. This unique, hands-on experience will allow people the time to connect with the actual FOOD and people who make the food in a way that will inspire a new approach to eating and living well. Amy and Carrie will share with great joy their favorite places to find good things to eat as well as places to refine one’s lifestyle in a more holistic, locally and personally tailored way.
Participants will sample food from The North Market, North Star Café, Z Pizza, Jeni’s Ice Cream, and Sushi Rock. The tour also offers free products, passes, and coupons from Yoga on High, Phia Salon, North Star Café, Jeni’s Ice Cream, and others.
The Saturday, July 31 tour is from 9am to 12pm, and a second tour is scheduled for Thursday, August 12 from 6pm to 9pm. Ticket price is $47 and space is limited.
