About Us
The goal of this magazine and web site is to be a resource that makes eating, growing and enjoying our local abundance an everyday pleasure.

Both our magazine and our website act as our contribution to the growing movement throughout this country that is encouraging people to eat more locally-grown and locally-produced foods. By eating locally, we help sustain the small family farms that grow these foods, we enjoy food that is fresher and healthier for us and we help reduce the cost on the environment--and in dollars--of transporting foods over long distances.

We invite you to share our goals.

REGULAR CONTRIBUTORS

doug

Doug Langeland
Doug spent 20 years as a pharmaceutical executive and management consultant, helping large and small companies develop successful business strategies. Always a passionate cook, he recently took a sabbatical to attend the French Culinary Institute in Manhattan. While his experiences at the FCI did not sway him to become a professional chef, they did convince him to follow his heart and become more involved with food as publisher of Edible Communities: Cape Cod.

dianne-headshot

Dianne Langeland
As a child, Dianne used to wish her summer vacations in Harwich Port would never end. As an adult and, now, full-time resident of Cape Cod, she is enjoying converting the grounds of her quarter-acre property on the Cape's north side to an edible landscape. This year, she and her husband Doug are looking forward to their first asparagus harvest and (if they can beat the birds to it) their first blueberry crop.

Recently, she also launched a strategic marketing and public relations company, focusing on the needs of the restaurant industry on the Cape and Islands. Tracy is thrilled to be going on her fourth year as a regular contributor to Edible Cape Cod - a publication that truly epitomizes the spirit of the things she loves most: food, wine and community.
