Mrs. Soergel’s Simple Baked Apples

Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients:

6-8 apples
1/2 cup brown sugar
1-2 teaspoons cinnamon (to taste)
1 tablespoon water
1 tablespoon butter or margarine

Directions:

  1. Peel and slice apples into eighths, to fill a 9-inch pie pan. Sprinkle with brown sugar, cinnamon, and water. Dot with butter.
  2. Cook in the microwave on full power until apples are soft, about 20 to 25 minutes. Or, bake for one hour at 350° in a conventional oven. Add raisins or nuts for a variation.
